An interview with the Founder and Artistic Director of the Muhtadi International Drumming Festival, Muhtadi Thomas about the nature of rhythm and the drum. Muthadi recently received the Harry Jerome Award from the BBPA on April 30, 2011 at the Toronto Congress Centre. This years Festival is in June. Please check back for details.

Cuban Rhumba Workshop June 5th Main Stage 10:00 am

A Cuban Rhumba Workshop will take place with Cuban master percussionist Joaquin Hidalgo in front of the Main Stage at the Muhtadi International Drumming Festival, Queen’s Park North, Toronto, ON M7A 1A6at 10:00 am.  Please bring your drum and join Joaquin who is bringing his vast performing and cultural experiences to the Festival.
